The Chair/National Representative

Rachel qualified in 2008 and works for Bowcock Cuerden LLP in Nantwich. Rachel has been on the committee for CNWJLD (previously the Trainee Solicitors Group) since 2006 and is passionate about getting more people involved. Outside of all things legal, Rachel plays the piano most of the time and accompanies several choirs as well as being Musical Director for a Wrexham based musical theatre group.

Treasurer/Funding Officer

Fiona is a paralegal and works as a Claims Manager and Risk Management Consultant at The Professional Indemnity Company. Fiona read Law with History at Keele University and completed the Legal Practice Course at The College of Law, Chester. She was treasurer for the committee in 2008/09 and is continuing in this role for 2009/10 while also taking on the role of Funding Officer. In her spare time she enjoys exploring the Shropshire and North Wales countryside with her two dogs and brushing up on her photography skills
Publicity Officer


Nina is a Paralegal in the Wills and Probate department at Bartletts Solicitors, Chester. Nina graduated from the Univeristy of Liverpool and went on to study the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at Chester's College of Law. During her spare time Nina sits on a panel for the Youth Offending Service, where she devises tailor made contracts for young offenders who are given referral orders. Recently married in Antigua, Nina enjoys entertaining in her new home, being entertained in other people's homes, and walks in the Lake District
Social Secretary

Carina is a Solicitor in the Litigation Department at Bowcock Cuerden LLP. She originally sat on the committee for the CNWJLD as Funding Officer in 2007/08. During the past year Carina has enjoyed attending all CNWJLD events and has been one of its keenest supporters. She was eager to re-join the committee and is now the Social Secretary. She lives in Chester with her husband and beloved cat and in her spare time enjoys seeing friends and family, shopping and attempting to cook.
Website Officer
Laurie works for Steggles Solicitors in their Chester office. Laurie trained in-house and has recently made her move back to private practice. She is originally from South Wales but relocated to Wrexham in 2005 and has sat on the Committee for the past 2 years. She is a keen fundraiser and chairs a fundraising group, raising money for RP Fighting Blindness. She enjoys taking long walks, reading and hosting dinner parties.
Student Representatives

Rachael Tucker
Rachael is currently studying the LPC at Chester College of Law and is due to start her training contract with Irwin Mitchell next year. She is new to the committee but is looking forward to representing the student view point. Rachael enjoys trying different extrene sports including sky diving, bunji jumping and white water river rafting.

Jonty Gordon
Jonty is currently studying the LPC at the College of Law, Chester after completing the GDL there last year. He has a Masters degree in Industrial Product Design from Coventry University and has previously worked in the design and engineering field. He lives near Caernarfon, North Wales and enjoys the mountain air when he isn't racing motorbikes or mountain bikes.
